Your Privacy Matters

At Mark Staelgraeve Coaching, I value your trust. Whether you're exploring my site, taking the Retirement Readiness Quiz, submitting your One Word for the year, signing up for Thursday Thoughts, or scheduling a session, your privacy is important to me. I don’t like spam either and I will never sell or misuse your information.

This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. What Information I Collect and Why

You may choose to share personal information on this site, including:

  • Name and Email Address — when signing up for Thursday Thoughts, requesting a complimentary session, or completing the quiz

  • Quiz Responses — used to generate results and better understand where people need support

  • Browsing Data — collected through cookies or analytics tools to help improve the website experience

  • One Word Submissions — when you submit your One Word for the year, I collect the word itself, the entry timestamp, and an anonymous browser identifier. This identifier helps reduce duplicate submissions from the same device while keeping your input anonymous.

2. How Your Information Is Used

Your information is used to:

  • Send you the content you requested (e.g., quiz results, blog emails, invitations to scheduled coaching sessions)

  • Improve my offerings and tailor future content to what matters most to visitors

  • Understand patterns (anonymously and in aggregate) to shape programs, resources, and services

  • Help ensure the integrity of the One Word collection process and support the creation of a public word cloud

You’ll only receive email communications if you’ve opted in. These may include:

  • Your personalized quiz results

  • 1–2 follow-ups inviting you to a complimentary session

  • My weekly blog, Thursday Thoughts

  • Occasional updates about services, events, or resources (only if you opt in)

You can unsubscribe at any time.

3. Quiz Data and Research Use

When you complete the Retirement Readiness Quiz, I collect your first and last name to help ensure the integrity of the data and connect results with a possible coaching session. Your quiz data:

  • Remains anonymous unless you choose to share your email

  • May be used in aggregate form to identify trends and support future resource development

  • Will never be shared publicly in a way that identifies you

4. Third-Party Tools and Analytics

I use trusted third-party tools to help deliver services, communicate effectively, operate this website smoothly and securely, and understand how visitors engage with the site:

  • Email services — MailChimp and Google Workspace, for managing communications

  • Quiz platform — ScoreApp, for delivering and storing Retirement Readiness Quiz results

  • Scheduling — Acuity Scheduling, for booking coaching sessions

  • Analytics — Cookies and Google Analytics, to monitor traffic and improve user experience

  • One Word submissions — Google Sheets, to store submitted words, timestamps, and anonymous browser identifiers

These services may store or process data as part of their functionality. Each provider operates according to their own privacy policies and complies with standard data protection practices.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You’re always in control of your data.

If you’d like to:

  • Unsubscribe from emails

  • Update or correct your information
